Hayley has lived here in Abingdon her entire life so far. She worked at another boarding facility for two years, and was a manager in the fast food industry for almost 3 years. She has always wanted to work with animals and has a true love for them. She has 3 dogs and a cat at home, and plans to continue to grow her furr family as soon as she has more room.

Missy has lived in Abingdon, Virginia, her entire life. She grew up on a farm, and has always loved animals of all kinds. She is obsessed with her weenie dog peanut, who even has his own closet. She also has three cats: Asher, Tom, and Jerry, who were all strays, but never left. She has worked as a manager in the fast food industry for over 25 years prior to her current position. Missy has a passion for caring for her animals as well as those in her care.
Heaven Luedeman
Part-Time Receptionist/Part-Time Kennel Assistant
Heaven moved to Abingdon, VA at the age of eight years old, originally from a small town in Indiana. Prior to coming to work with us, she worked in the retail industry for three years.
“Growing up I have always been around cats and dogs and have had such a strong love for them. They bring so much joy into our lives and a happiness you can’t put into words!”
Her family consists of her Fiancé, their son, Lucas, their daughter Elliana and their four legged children, Lola, whom they rescued as a runt five years ago, and Frankie, their newest addition, from Happy Tails Animal Rescue!

I’m never not smiling here! Getting to know the patient’s and boarder’s personalities, taking care of them and playing with these fur babies is extremely rewarding for me. Katie is from Abingdon, VA. From the the time she was able to grasp the concept of having a 4 legged friend and what it was about, she has had a passion for caring for any animal she possibly could.
“They are only here for a part of our life, and we are their whole life.” They hold such a special place in our hearts and show us unconditional love.
Her dream is to one day open her own animal shelter/adoption center for the animals who are in need of loving families. They are truly the “heart of the home.”
Katie’s family consists of her dog Rosie, Great Pyrenees/ red heeler. “I never thought I could have such a special bond and love something so much, we do almost everything together. She is truly a girls best friend!” Thumper, who is a calico bobtail cat. She has a special condition called “cerebellum hypoplasia” which is tremors, shakes, or wobbles. She has a hard time with some things as you could expect but she is a strong willed baby that will surprise you, she is a feisty girl! “She holds such a special place in my heart and loves like no other.”
“Working at AAMC has been such a blessing in many ways, I have fallen in love with everything about it from the staff being so kind and welcoming to the oh so friendly cats and dogs I get to see everyday. I love making sure they get all the right love, food and play time!”
