Hayley Mullins
Kennel Manager/Kennel Assistant
Hayley was born and raised here in Abingdon. Ever since she was little, when asked what she wanted to do when she grew up, the answer was always “literally anything with animals”. She hopes to one day be able to have a small rescue of her own. When she’s not taking care of your pets, she has her own crew waiting for her at home! Her pups Millie, Marley, Mango and Maple and her cat Leo. Prior to working here, she was in the fast food industry for 7 years, and worked at another boarding facility for 3 years.
“I know pets hold a very special place in all of our hearts, and I truly love coming into work everyday to take care of them! I love seeing all the new faces everyday and being able to take the time to gain their trust. It’s such a great feeling when they’re understandably a little nervous the first time, but leaving their parents behind to come hang out with us the next. I promise when your pet comes through those doors, they’re being taken care of, spoiled, and loved on just how we would want our own to be. It really is such a blessing to be able to say you love your job, I can’t imagine doing something different.”

Heaven Luedeman
Part-Time Vet Assistant/Part Time Kennel Assistant
Heaven moved to Abingdon, VA at the age of eight years old, originally from a small town in Indiana. Prior to coming to work with us, she worked in the retail industry for three years.
“Growing up I have always been around cats and dogs and have had such a strong love for them. They bring so much joy into our lives and a happiness you can’t put into words!”
Her family consists of her Fiancé, their son, Lucas, their daughter Elliana and their four legged children, Lola, whom they rescued as a runt five years ago, and Frankie, their newest addition, from Happy Tails Animal Rescue!
“I will always also mention, my sweet Bella, who has passed, but will always have a big place in my heart, she was rescued from the road many years ago.”
“Working here at AAMC has brought a joy to my life like no other, from the amazing and sweet staff, to the cutest furry friends I get to see and work with! They truly make going to work exciting. I’m never not smiling here! Getting to know the patient’s and boarder’s personalities, taking care of them and playing with these fur babies is extremely rewarding for me. At the end of every day, I’m super thankful I get to be apart of their lives!”

Hannah Lester
Part Time Receptionist/Part Time Kennel Assistant
Hannah was born and raised in Bristol. “Although my profession for the last 8 years has been bakery-related and being a cake artist, ever since I was old enough to be asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer has always been a Vet. As I’ve gotten older marine life has become a huge fascination of mine! Being around all animals small, large, wild and aquatic makes me happy!”
Working with the dogs and cats in the kennels is a great first step on the journey to making working with animals a lifelong career fro Hannah! Supporting her on that journey is her mom, her fiance, and their 4 fur babies! “We have 2 dogs, a hyper and attitude-filled Australian shepherd Lola and our little loving Pomchi “Princess” Willow as well as 2 cats. A very talkative siamese, Bentley and our feisty Orange girl Autti.”
